MODERN ENGLISH GRAMMAR lists the elements of grammar in alphabetical order, making the entries easily accessible. It offers a wealth of advice on how to avoid common errors and in many cases examples of usage have been included to make the information easier to follow. There is much interrelation between some items of grammar and there is an extensive system of cross-referring in this book to reflect this interrelation and to enable the user to get the full picture.
